Become Part of Giving Tuesday – Support an Important Cause

We believe in being part of our community, and supporting those who have helped us succeed. This month, we’d like to help a cause we believe in – Healthy Start for Mom & Me.

You’ve probably heard the phrase “it takes a village to raise a child” – it’s one we agree with. New parents need support from their communities from a lot of different angles.

Most of us know about the financial challenges of raising a child, but there are significant emotional and informational challenges as well. No one goes into their first year – or even their first month – as a new parent knowing everything, and that can cause just as much stress and turmoil as not having all the resources you need.

Healthy Start for Mom & Me, a Manitoba pre- and post-natal support program, works with community health offices and other bodies to help provide resources, information, and support for new parents.

What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday was created as a charitable response to the more popular “black Friday” and “cyber Monday” retail events, to remind us that while giving gifts is a great way to show our appreciation for each other – giving back to the community is just as important.

Here’s a quick video from the organizers of this event:
